Difference between D3 and D4.
I have just bought a used Accord and I see that other than R,P,2 and 1 as gear options, there are D3 and D4. What is the difference between D3 and D4 and which should one use under which conditions?
PS: I did not get a manual with the car..

D3 is for normal driving. D4 changes the gear ratios but it's kind of unnecessary.
yea thats right D3 normal driving D4 cause wear and tear faster
When i drive it d3 it only goes up to 40 mph until it starts forcing itself to go any higher, what could this mean? Its definitely not used for normal driving in mine im forced to stick with using d4
d4 is the top gear. This is the normal place to keep the gear selector when driving.
D4 is where u should be driving normally "in town ,freeway, ect" now D3 is very similar however D3 should only be used when driving down hill. It will downshift 1,2, or 3 gears depending on speed, to slow vehicle down "downshifting " this will save ur breaks from alot of wear & tear! Now I got my information rite from the owners manual in my 2000 Honda accord also by driving in both gears it is exactly on point & correct! Thank you for ur time! BillyT.
