Troubleshooting

Asked by GuruZ94ZQ Oct 07, 2017 at 05:30 AM about the 1991 Honda Civic Hatchback

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Somedays when i crank
my 1991 honda civic it
idles up and down.If I cut it
off and crank it again it
stops. However,this
morning while warming
my engine my car spit and
sputtered and cut
off...when trying to crank it
again it did turn over but
cut off
immediately...Trying to
crank it again...I pumped
the gas and it would not
rev up like it wasnt getting
gas. What could be the
issue? I tried to crank later
in the day and no problem
at all. Scared to drive. Not
sure if i cut it off..if it will
crank back up. Any advice
would help.

I would check the fuel pressure , spark plugs and wires , look for any broken/loose vacuum lines , air filter . You may have an intake gasket leak , that's an old car but that don't mean it ain't good
