1991 honda civic dx engine harness help

NO. It uses different computer PCM powertrain control module~4th 1991(DB157) to 5th 1993 (D15B8) generation engine was changed. Honda doesn't make a change unless its to upgrade.

So if I switch it I would need to swap the wiring harness too? Also is the 1993 worth swapping with my b16 engine. I've heard that the b16 dual point dohc engine are pretty good and should be a bit faster then the later model engines. The only issue I have with my engine now is that I have really low compression on my first cylinder. I've thought about just re ringing the piston. The engine also burns oil and leaks from the rear main seal I think. So what I'm asking is is it worth it just to do the engine work to it instead of swapping the engine with possibly burn oil anyway

First Yes, you will have to change the wire harness because of the engine controls. I don't know your skill set so in most cases it's best to exchange the harness instead of reworking the current '91 harness. I suggest you locate a second hand 1991 engine with LOW miles or possibly a JDM (Japanese domestic market) engine these are better options in terms of cost, rebuilding is expensive and unless you can handle most of the work I suggest you avoid it! The difference in power from '91 to '93 forget it...save your money and upgrade to a newer vehicle if you can, Just a thought. Regards
