Since your description makes it appear to be
an intermittent issue, I'd start by checking
the connections to the battery, the alternator,
and the power distribution block under the
hood. If the main fuse is a bolt in then check
the disposition of those bolts also.
Assuming all of the aformentioned
connections are clean, corrosion free, and
tight and undamaged, then I would start
checking grounds to the engine, and the
body making sure those are clean, corrosion
free, and tight as well. After that I guess I
would check the plug to the ECM located
under the carpet on the floor/firewall in front
of the passengers feet. Make sure it is tight,
dry, clean and corrosion free. I don't recall if
the ECM has a dedicated ground wire or not,
but if it does then confirm that it is clean,
corrosion free, and tight. If, however, the ECM
grounds through it's mounting bolts then
make sure those are clean, corrosion/rust
free, and tight. I would expect your problem
to be somewhere amongst those
connections.
