It's transverse (sideways) so must be Front wheel drive ..this will go full screen

2,595

All Civics from that era had 4 cylinder, transverse mounted engines and were front wheel drive. I had a 93 EX automatic which averaged 30 mpg and would routinely get a tick over 41 on the highway. Not quite sure why your gas mileage is low. What is the mileage anyway? How does the rest of the car drive?
