Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a honda civic 1990 sedan. The problem is it cranks but doesn't start. I've
checked everything including the battery, spark plugs, distributor, and they're all fine.
When i used to drive it used to just turn off and when i tried starting it again it would
chug. Now it wont start, after cranking it a few times it'll start to smell like gas and i'm
not sure if the fuel pump is clogged or i need to replace the fuel filter or the cat
converter. Does anyone know what it cold be?
