Settle an argument

Asked by lischw Feb 07, 2015 at 04:39 PM about the 2005 Hyundai Accent GLS Sedan FWD

Question type: General

My 16 year old daughter insists her
2005 Hyundai Accent has automatic
headlights. We CONSTANTLY have
to jump her car because it won't
start after she's left her lights on. No
matter how many times we tell her
she doesn't have automatic
headlights, she refuses to believe us.
Even though her dad is a car
salesman. So, what day you out
there? Is that even an option for this
make and model??

No her car DOES not have automatic headlights unless they were added on aftermarket. That's not even an option on brand new 2015 Models.

Yes the Accent does have automatic headlights. After you turn the car off, but leave the headlights on they will automatically turn off after a couple seconds. This is how my wife's 2003 Hyundai Accent works.

I have a 2005 Hyundai Accent GT and it DOES have automatic headlights BUT when the headlight relay goes bad I found that mine were not always turning off automatically. Here's how to replace the relay: http://www.shareyourrepair.com/2016/03/hyundai-accent-headlights- will-not-come-on.html

My 2008 Hyundai Accent kinda has automatic lights. You can shut off the car with the lights on but you have to remove the key. If the key is in the ignition, they DON'T shut off.

If a car has auto headlights it will have a On, Off and Auto setting on the headlight switch. If you set it On then the headlights will stay On.

I leave my lights on all the time and it doesn't have that setting on my switch. They shut off when I take the key out but the side marker lights stay on until I open the door. ALWAYS for the last 8 1/2 years. If the key stays in the lights stay on.
