Hello, I recently purchased a 2000 ford
explorer xls v6 with 2wd after my last got
totaled. It has 176,000 miles. I'm leasing it
from a side dealer and make weekly
payments with no warranys on the car.
Within 3 months I already had to replace
upper intake manifold gaskets, my IAC
valve twice and know for a fact that I need
plugs wires and my EGR valve is stuck
open. My alternator went the other day and
was replaced with a 95 amp valuecrAft
alternator. Ever sense if I turn my lights on
and heat on blast the volt guage bounces
lights get dim and idle gets worse. I haven't
stalled yet and already have had the
alternator tested at several places just to
make sure it's okay. And it passed
everywhere. It drives fine just recently been
getting this skipping feeling when
accelerating. The violet gauge stays in the
middle And still if everything is off.
Everything gets worse as it warms up. I
really want to fix this electrical issue
because these are symptoms I had before
my last alternator went. Just not this bad.
Do I need a stronger alt? Can plugs and
wires cause this? My wires are really bad. I
don't know hat to do first. Grounds are
clean and tight new terminals and battery is
perfect. What's a priority and what should I
tackle first? Help me fix Dora the explorer!!!
