Asked by Lisa Feb 16, 2019 at 12:28 PM about the 2005 Hyundai Tucson GLS 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I am told that probability of engine damage
with a broken belt is high.  Then also told by
others when fixed it is fine.  Money tight and
don't know what to do

the belt was changed at 90k and now broke at 130k. its too late to decide as it has already happened. Perhaps this was automated response since my question wasnt answered.

The odds are pretty much 100% that your engine is damaged. On a Hyundai that old you should consider scrapping it rather than wasting money trying to fix it.
