PLEASE HELP ME

Asked by Heather Mar 04, 2019 at 11:07 AM about the 2004 Hyundai Sonata V6 GLS FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

In front of back right tire I noticed
clear liquid stuff leaking  and had a
very bitter taste. Lying on the ground
looking up as the brake pedal is
consistently  applied the more I see
this box thing that 4 fluid lines run
into. The leaking comes from box
connector thing.  What is this?

I'm not completely familiar with your Hyundai but from your description it sounds like a brake line distribution block. Trace where the lines lead to, if it's the caliper then it's definitely a brake line. Brake fluid can appear clear (ish) in small quantities, unless it's dirty. After repairing the leaky fitting, you'll have to bleed the brakes. PS, this needs to be done asap, as you can find yourself suddenly losing brakes in traffic if one of the brake lines goes.
