Can you still drive the car at all? If so, I would take it to O'Reilly's or Autozone and have them test your alternator and battery. I've hear of bad alt/battery manifesting in all sorts of weird ways. To unlock your steering wheel; If you turn the wheel from left to right there should be a side that you notice the wheel "bounces back" from. Crank the wheel in the direction of the side you discover has that bounce back, and turn the key simultaneously.

I've replaced the battery .. apparently my ignition I just paid for has been blown along with my relay is what my dudes friends scanner thing said theres obviously a short if all my power going on and off I just cant afford to go and have them finger the problem at the dealership.. and the tow truck driver that I called told me he couldnt tow my car cause my wheel was locked I'm just up in arms this car has caused me nothing but a headache not even 100,000 miles on it.. I thought mercedes were so well made!!
