Smart key Fob want turn.

After replacing batteries in the key fob. I turn the key and the car started up. I did it a second time and the car started up! I let the car run to check everything and it was find according to the screen massage! Turn off the car and when into the house to get ready to got and hour later! I put the Key Fob into the ignition and the key would not turn. the lights on the smart key would work as I push he button to sat the alarm but nothing would flash! I can't get my car to start the fob key will not turn! What is wrong with my car or key?

The FOB is not the smart KEY, did you program the FOB this is easy. The only thing a battery change will do is possibly stop the FOB push button function the KEY should turn in the ignition switch and start the vehicle, nothing to do with battery change.Why did you change the battery no remote functions Right , but the car stated..

I have a Mercedes Benz c240 2002 and I have problem with my smart key. The key turn on the ignition but not open the doors and set alarm. I already change the batteries for a new one. What you think is the problem? I need to replace the key. Thanks
