No, put it in the gear you need it in (1st) and keep your left foot on the clutch pedal and you right foot on the brake. Always be ready to take off when light changes. If your in stopped traffic and its not moving forward, maybe then its o.k. But if traffic is moving & stopping and moving, stay in gear and use clutch to move forward.
