C180 kompressor 2003 camshaft issue

Hi everyone, i have a c180 kompressor 2003 , on
the front of the engine there is 2 camshaft sensors
left and right .
the question is : what will happen if i install the left
one in the place of the right one and vice verse ?

After i got the check engine light on it was an incorrect position of the exhaust camshaft P0020, The garage guy switched the left sensor to the right and the right one to the left and tried it after a few meteres the engine stucks from inside and wont turn any more , i want to know if this happened because he switched camshaft sensors or it is just a coincidence
