My car tells me Visit workshop .Replace Key but car starts okay and drives okay .What could be the problem and how do i resolve this ?

After replacing Car Alertnator ,i have a warning now that says Visit Workshop
Replace Key .But car seems to be running fairly well ..What do i neeed to do
to resolve this ?

Yes, should be checked out, may be as simple as resetting a code, but a scan of the ECM will let you know.

Thanzx Rowefast but now the cant even get into the car system to carry out Diagnostics

May be in the security system. May have to be reset or turned off. Or there may be a burnt fuse to supply power to the ECM and the ALDL test port.

Hey .The warning seems to have disapperaed on its own and is notshowing no more ..Thx . I need to buy an extra blank key and programme it ..Any ideas where ?
