Engine light on, cruise control sometimes doesn't work. Dealer doesn't know why

Asked by GuruF3KHP May 07, 2020 at 12:09 PM about the 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Engine light comes on and stays on. Cruise control sometimes doesn't work but
if I turn the car off and back on it works. Last week engine light blinked and car
shook during acceleration. Dealer said could be water in gas or bad oil. They
changed oil and got car back with engine light off. Today engine light was back
on and cruise control is intermittent again. Any ideas?

A flashing check engine light is warning you that the engine is misfiring and damaging the catalytic converter! My first thought is get a tune up. That should solve the shaking. Hope that helps! Jim
