i cant see why you would have too clean a throttle body, but take it off soak it in some sort of solvent and then rinse/blow dry it out well
buy throttle cleaner from a company called wynns, and your want to clean your throttle every 20,000kms and reason you service your throttle is that way the carbon build up doesn't keep the throttle plate open leting extra air in, that would be notice by your map/mas sensor causing high idle or hesitation
the way to clean throttle body on the car is 1 start engin hold revs up around 1/2 rpm spray intermitant burst of cleaner into front of throttle body dont let the car stall keep doing it till it looks clean and is running better but unless its black in side dont touch it could cause more problems { carbin } hope this helps
Why are you cleaning it, is it sticking? Take off your intake tube so you can see the butterfly. Spray carb cleaner in there, as well as opening the butterfly so you can get the gunk on the other side. Spray and wipe down with CLEAN rag, spray and wipe, spray and wipe, shouldn't take long...good luck
I find using an old toothbrush along with Air Intake Cleaner cleans really well.
