1988 Grand Wagoneer heater problems

Asked by Daron Jan 27, 2018 at 10:54 PM about the 1988 Jeep Grand Wagoneer 4 Dr STD 4WD SUV

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My heater worked fine, then one day the motor started
making a squawking noise and stopped.  I installed a new
motor, nothing worked.  Replaced the resistor and the
blower turns but no air makes it inside the car.  Mode
selector switch is getting power.  Does anyone know what
might be going on?  What opens the "door" from the engine
compartment to the inside?

No sound when moving the selector switch. You are referring to the heater box in the engine compartment correct? Where is the vacuum line? Thanks for your help.
