2000 Ford Focus Stalling out

Asked by Carolyn-Cricket Aug 14, 2019 at 09:12 AM about the 2000 Ford Focus SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2000 Ford Focus is sputtering out and dying sometime's when you
have to stop at a red light or behind a car turning and you go to pull out to
drive. Last time it did it I hit the gas to pull out and some kind of fluid went
all over my windshield. Just spent $1200 at the mechanics getting this
problem fixed and it's still doing it! Driving me crazy! Afraid to drive it and it
break down on me. Had a new starter, battery, oil change, plug's, radiator
and antifreeze tank done to the car. Would be grateful for any answer's i
could get.

Sounds like a code is stored related to the check engine light that is being overlooked. You have a leak in the closed fuel system. Try changing the fuel cap first.
