Car will not start
Asked by Ben Feb 10, 2010 at 10:05 AM about the 1999 Hyundai Sonata GLS FWD
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
My car will not start. When I turn the key it cranks but will not engage the engine. It sounds like it
starts to engage but then does not. All the lights and air work. I do not know what it could be. I am
trying to fix it before I call a tow company.
Thank You

Try a fresh set of Plugs IF that does not work you have to go to the basics Compression / Fuel and Spark An Engine needs all three to operate.
it aint the plugs check your starter and depending on the year the starter gear if the battery and the distributor work properly then the only thing really the problem would be the starter... howeever it could be several things... plugs would only matter if its fuel injected...
