How do I remove the power brake booster?

Asked by elbingador Dec 19, 2013 at 12:50 PM about the 2000 Ford Mustang Convertible RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My power brake booster has stopped working, and I'm trying to remove it from the vehicle so I can replace it, but they way it's set up, I've been unable to remove it.  It appears to be blocked in by the frame of the car itself (specifically the front driver's side wheel well), and the bolts holding the booster in behind the steering column are so long that I honestly can't figure out how it was installed in the first place.  Has anyone else seen anything like this?  The booster had to be put in somehow, but with the way this car is set up, it seems to defy the laws of physics.
