Service Engine Soon Light On

Asked by ShenaMDance May 26, 2018 at 12:36 PM about the 2008 BMW X3 xDrive30i AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The other day I was turning a corner and my 2008
X3 shut completely off.  I turned the ignition and it
came right back on no problem, but then the
service engine light came on and the steering
wheel was loose when it is usually stiff.  I am not
due for an oil change for another 4000 miles if
every 5000 miles is standard. I currently have
about 84.4k miles on the vehicle.

Thank you. Weird thing, drive today, no service light and no issues but scheduled my car to be serviced.
