my 2000 3.8L v6 mustang is ticking. it only ticks when driving tho. i can rev it up when parked and sound okay. im only running cats tho.

Could it be an exhaust leak that is becoming noticeable when the engine is placed under load like driving. If it is an automatic you can simulate this by holding the brake when in drive and give it a slight amount of throttle to see if the noise shows up.
