1967 firebird

My 1967 firebird battery was dead over the winter, so when I jumped it my
friend accidently put jumper cables on reverse, when I stared the car i
burned out modgu;ar in a pertronix flam thrower 111, I changed the
modulator and checked timing changed plugs now car starts but breaks up
real bad something else must have burned out an one have any idea what
may have happened .thanks My name is Paul

Yes gas is fresh the call was running well Just before this incident I took The car to a car show I forgot to put the trickle charge back on About a week later The battery was dead That's when I jumped Accidentally Put cables On reverse When I jumped it

Timing and plugs won't be related. You probably fried the electronics feeding your ignition. Is your '67 still using its old ignition point system or have you upgraded it to a newer electronic box (sorry, I don't know what a pectronics unit does).
