1968 Pontiac firebird headlights

Asked by Brian Aug 01, 2017 at 09:39 PM about the 1968 Pontiac Firebird Coupe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

After headlights have been on for 10 or 15 minutes
they will start to shutter on and off rapidly. It doesn't
matter if it's been running or not just after 15
minutes or so they start flashing. Replaced the
headlight switch and dimmer switch. Need help!!! I
wonder if there is a really getting hot or something

You have some really old wiring harnesses from 1968 so I would definitely really look at your wiring harnesses for your headlights and see if there's any frayed wires or bent or loose frayed connections and then also take and unplug the headlight harness from the headlights and clean inside of the contacts of that harness and then replug them into your headlights and see if that does anything cuz it sounds like a loose contact to me either at the headlights themselves or inside the harness's or somewhere within the harness good luck.
