04 G35 stuck in limp mode

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have an 04 g35 that seems to be stuck in limp mode (4th gear). I have
replaced the valve body, tcm, speed sensors, maf, o2 sensors, map sensors,
and more but still no fixing the issue. It is showing an AT check light but when i
ran the codes nothing pops up for the trans at all. Any ideas?

What does the live data show for the cycling of 4 gear solenoid?

Nissan tech checked it out, not throwing any codes out anything, said all looked good
Well then you know that to be false, my experience with so called specialists is they want the diagnostic fee but don’t want to fix anything or have the excuse of no parts available. Find an independent shop with good reviews and take it there.

well its my buddy, he works for them. One thing i saw today is now the fluid is looking a real light brown again like its getting burnt but fluid is full and only light on is the AT check light but no codes for trans being thrown. Only other light is ABS due to a bad module (one by the driver seat). Maybe the valve body went bad again? but if so shouldnt it throw a light?
Sounds like it’s slipping and burning the fluid, might time for a transmission overhaul.

thats what im afraid of. I have noticed some people say the bcm doesnt affect the speed sensors or anything but when i ran one of the codes last night it says speed sensor and its ran by the bcm. so does the speed sensor go through the bcm or no? if so the Nissan software is showing no data through the bcm like its bad, so was gonna order that next
No, the BCM handles the accessories like radio, windows, seats etc. All the engine and transmission sensors and solenoids are ran by the ECM and in some models they have a TCM just for transmission shift control but it is even controlled by the ECM.

well when it was hooked to the Computer at Nissan, only real codes were the BCM and a speed sensor, but after clearing the codes they didnt come back only an airbag module code. For some reason the AT check light is on but not throwing codes, some say there is supposed to be a relay by the passenger floorboard but there isnt one on this car, not even a place for it to go. Im so lost w/this car, seems to be a never ending issue at the moment. The guy i got it from replaced the TCM, Valve body, drain and flush w/filter on trans, ordered a throttle body (which i replaced a couple days ago), MAF sensor, MAP sensor, battery, and i believe speed sensors, Fuel pump and sending unit, accelerator peddle, plugs and wires, and TPS sensors. So im lost on what to do next lol. This is the whole reason i got it so cheap, he couldnt figure it out and neither can Nissan
I'm more concerned with the trans fluid color change, that tells me it is slipping, I don't know if this one has gear ratio sensors or not but that might be what the TCM is picking up on and telling the ECM to turn on the light. You might think about having a good transmission shop check it out. but prepare yourself for bad news. Sorry

yea thats what im worried about lol, but if i need to replace i will, i mean besides bcm and ecu everything else has been replaced pretty much. so gonna replace bcm next and then if that doesnt do anything gonna look into trans. Found one for $500 shipped from japan
