It's probably the front brake solenoid on your valve
body. It could just be bad and you just need to replace
it which is easy once the valve body is off, or the band
inside your TCM is broken or came unsoldered. Either
way you need to remove your valve body to get to it.
Once you drain the fluid and remove the pan it doesn't
take long. There are several bolts holding the valve
body on but you only have to remove 12 to drop it.
Careful not to let it fall there are 2 wire harnesses you
need to unplug. It's best to have an extra hand if
possible to hold it while you unclip the wires. I did it by
myself but had some trouble holding it up while I
unplugged the harness. After it's out there are ways to
check the output of the solenoid. Or you can take the
TCM off the valve body and open it up to look at the
bands inside to see if one is broken or came
unsoldered. Mine had a broken band that went to the
solenoid. I just re-soldered mine and didn't have any
more issues. But if you don't want to risk doing it
yourself and taking the chance of it coming off again
you can just buy a new TCM unit and replace the whole
thing. Either way it's a lot cheaper than a new valve
body or transmission.
