Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I got an 03 Infiniti g35 coupe and will overheat after
a couple days of driving it and for some reason
cause they reservoir to get full and stay full and not
allow coolant to flow back into the radiator causing
it to get low and overheat. I have replaced the
thermostat, thermostat sensor, water pump,
radiator fans, and bleed the air out the system
many many many times with the funnel that is used
to bleed out systems. I even took it to a shop and
said they couldn’t find the problem to it because it
wouldn’t overheat on idle on them therefore all they
could do is bleed out the system again and even
said it couldn’t be a head gasket problem because
it would show no symptom of it at all. Plus if it was
a head gasket problem wouldn’t it happen
constantly rather than after a couple of days of
driving it?? ( I been having this issue for a long long
time already and getting really tired of it lol ) and I
get that the car is old but if it’s not a head gasket
problem then it could be a simple fix?

I hope so but I will switch it out again but I have used different ones before and would still end up overheating

I will get a new cap and try that for sure and hopefully it works much appreciated

Cold, top of the fluid. Start, drive for ten minutes. Stop and pop hood. Look for and smell for any sign of leak around the radiator cap BASE. Around the filler neck. The plastic cracks under that lip, an inch below the cap, this will leak but only under high pressure. A few seconds at a time every time it is shut off. Then instead of creating a vacuume as it cools and drawing fluid from the reservoir, it draws air. The cycle repeats once or twice and then the car overheats. Long story short, bad radiator. Hope this helps someone. I see this a hundred times a year and have personally experienced it on both of my 06g35 s, my 07 and 09. Plastic radiators are shit. If you replace the cap, spend the bill and replace the whole thing.
