86 chev died mid corner and wouldnt start

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 86 chevy k10 stalled in the middle of a merge
and wouldnt start back up. As soon as i gave it gas
while coming out of the bend the engine just died
all of a sudden, there was 0 warning. It would crank
and try to turn over. The odd time it would start
back up running real rough and as soon as i tapped
the gas it died again. Had a similer problem with it
dieing st stop signs a month ago so i changed fuel
pump, filters and rebuilt the carb. Ran fine untill
this point. A day later she started up just fine but
after a few mins started idling really rough then
died and won't start again. Any ideas would be
appreciated as i dont know much about this stuff

I believe this is electrical. One thing common is the rotor inside the distributor will burn a hole in the center, so the spark goes to ground. Start by replacing the rotor. Then try it and if it does not start yet, then check for spark. It would either the coil or the ignition control module.
