Please someone!!!! Tell me if a 1985 Chevy Silverado has a CHECK ENGINE LIGHT?????

I’m in a dispute with a Smog shop that claims my
truck has a check engine light and won’t pass my
visual part of truck so I just fixed it up for my 85
year old father and I really don’t remember if this
has one ? But a mechanic told me the choke light
takes the place of the check engine light is this true
because the Bureau referee is not buying it! please
somebody help can you please tell me what the
answer is yes or no!!!!!!!  THANK YOU SO VERY
MUCH!

I’m in California Tom, the Emissions manual is showing no MIL OR CE LIGHT BUT THE REFEREE IS SAYING ALL THE PREVIOUS SMOG CHECKS SHOW IT HAD ONE I DIDNT SEE THE PAPER WORK MY FATHER SND SIS WHO LIVE IN BAKERSFIELD TOOK IT IN BUT AGAIN THE MANUEL SHOWS NO MALFUNCTION INDICATOR , do you know anyone who has a 1985 stepside that can check it out? I am doing the same investigation I have a1984 chevy G30 5.7 Lit rv and doesnt show engine light in the dash bord,but smog guy check the book and say in california shuld have light bulb for check eng light, ans if somthing in the system fail the light come on,but is not way to retrive codes
