I have a 84 k10. 305 with 4 barrel carb nothing special about it. It’s my everyday driver

Asked by Laserblazer Dec 13, 2017 at 09:23 PM about the 1984 Chevrolet C/K 10 Silverado 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It starts and runs good when it’s warm outside. When it’s cold outside I’ll be
driving and the motor will start cutting out. I hear and feel clicks seems like
there down by the floor every time it does it. After 5 minutes of driving then it
seems  to clear up. All dash lights stay on with the radio. Any help.  Is
something sticking cause of the cold?

Any chance you have an external fuel pump attached on the frame rail under the cab? There's already a fuel filter in that area, big 'ol canister type, in the past owner's would mount an inline fuel pump in that location. Might be freezing up in the cold.
