What is causing the vibrating noise in my engine when accelerating?

Asked by JDC2222 Feb 08, 2014 at 02:49 AM about the 2001 INFINITI I30 FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2001 Infiniti I30 makes vibrating noises or sounds like it needs a new muffler  when I
press the accelerator after a cold start.  This happens whenever the outside air temp is
below about 40 to 45 degrees and completely goes away once the engine warms up after
several minutes.  You can't hear any problems when the engine is idling.   I recently had
the "tensioner" belt replaced but that did not solve the problem.  Any suggestions?

Inspect all the pulleys, alternator, power steering pump and ac compressor. Look for what I call belt wobble.
