No power to distributor

Asked by Coop43 Aug 07, 2019 at 12:30 AM about the 1982 Chevrolet C/K 10 Silverado RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Power supply wire that runs to the
distributor fell off distributor
connector while starting truck and
shorted out. Now truck won’t start
and there is no power going through
the distributor power supply wire. All
fuses on panel look good. Just
wondering if there is any switch, fuse,
relay, etc that could have been
damaged from the wire shorting out,
and now not allowing power to flow
through the wire and to the
distributor.

the wire may be a fuse wire for your truck, it may look ok but will be burnt inside wire, You need 12 volts running to distributor, check the voltage of the wire all the way to the fuse block.
