Relay problem

I have a 1997 Silverado,  my truck starts for a few seconds
then turns off , my old mechanic was hitting the gas pump
relay and put it back on then it turned on the whole day , so
I bought a new relay and now it does the same thing , turns
on a few seconds then turns on . I did replace the gas
pump already

It’s the pump not the relay then. You have to drop the tank to get to it.
