Starting issues

Asked by GuruCT91B Feb 10, 2019 at 04:45 PM about the 1997 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Silverado 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 1997 Chevy Silverado k1500 cranks but won’t
start. Checked the battery, has spark, new
distributor and router, starter is good, fuel pump is
at 55ibs for pressure, air intake is good. Just not
sure what is causing it to crank but no start?

Do you have the spider fuel system on this vehicle? I don't know engine size? Key on engine off fuel pressure, 60--66 psi. Start up fuel pressure can be critical, after it starts, it will run with less pressure. Could be other issues, any applicable trouble codes?
