What causes no electrical spark

Is the check engine light on? Start by checking the pick up coil located under the distributor cap, you need to take the distributor out to change it. Make sure you mark how the distributor sits, take note where the rotor is pointing in order to get it back where it belongs.

Most likely a bad ECU or damaged wires. See if you can connect to the ECU and read codes. Here is an excellent guide on how to do that: https://www.youcanic.com/chevrolet/chevrolet-check-engine-light Let us know what you find out.
