93 silverado dies out

Asked by chevygirl93 Jan 16, 2017 at 12:50 AM about the 1993 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Silverado Extended Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Have a 93 silverado 1500 with a 350 5.7 L. Will
start if i push the gas pedal all the way down but
will die a few minutes later once it has warmed up.
It spits out gas from the injectors if i try to force it
to turn on. Also a lot of black smoke leaves the
exhausts once it finally starts. Have not been able
to stay on longer than a few minutes if it does
start. Other than that it will just crank.  Have
replaced fuel pump, egr, map, and fuel filter. Kinda
lost as to where to go from here.

Ok, you still have a fuel issue. Start by checking the fuel pressure, it should be 9 to 13 lbs. I know you have a new fuel pump. It may be in the fuel regulator in the TBI. The spring gets week not allowing the proper fuel pressure for the injectors. There is a rebuild kit for this. Also it may be plugged up injectors, dirty. If this is the case it is so much easier to just replace them. There should be a nice cone shape spray out of them, no drips at all.
