Diminished Value

Asked by yobarbi Aug 08, 2018 at 08:45 PM about the 2017 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C 300 4MATIC

Question type: Car Selling & Trading In

Someone backed into my parked car so it had to have some minor body work.
The back quarter panel was repaired and the tail light assy and bumper were
replaced. The repair was $2291. I'm curious how much this wreck will
negatively impact the resale value of my car. Appreciate the expertise of the
car gurus and the purchasing public.  Thanks in advance.
Production Date: 8/2016
Milage: 21,627
The VIN is: 55SWF4KB4HU183638

This would be a good question for your insurance company to answer.

That is hard to say. If the work was done properly the car should be as good as new. The damage must have been slight as the repair bill was rather small for a Mercedes.

Your car will lose approximately 15% of it's pre-accident trade-in value as a result of its now having a repair history.
