Transmission problems

I have a 2000 Ford Taurus and I replaced
the head gaskets and replaced one head
cause the other was cracked got it all back
together but now the transaxle gear light is
flashing on dash I checked fuses and #28
fuses keeps blowing once I start the car.
What would cause that I checked the
tranny fluid and it is really low would that
cause the light to flash and the fuse to
blow cause maybe the tranny is getting to
hot.? Please help have been messing with
this car for a while

Okay will the light on the dash that's a gear flash if the tranny is really low on fluids
