gas smell

Asked by GuruL2XWZ Apr 24, 2019 at 01:09 PM about the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox LS AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I get home from work and park my car, and go out to drive it in 10
minutes when I start it my car smells like gas inside, then after that every time I
start it it smells of gas. Took it to be looked at and they can't find anything. It's
been that way since I got it but comes and goes. Just now it is getting worse.I
bought it new.

Use a gage and check proper fuel pressure. Once the pressure builds up turn off the key, see if pressure holds for a bit, if it drops like a rock have to check for fuel pressure leak. Also, check the evap system. Are there any applicable trouble codes? The canister purge solenoid is number 31 in the picture. That solenoid has to do with evap system. I'm not saying it is faulty.
