Is it possible to get a duplicate of the actual metal key portion of the keyfob?  I
would like to stash one in my wallet in case I lock myself out of the vehicle.

Yes, you can request a replacement for the key only portion of your key FOB from the dealership. You can probably order it over the phone to from a Chevy dealer but they will need your VIN #.
