Question type: General

I have a 2017 equinox and the auto lights do not turn on at dusk. I have to
manually turn on the lights. Is this the sensor or a fuse?

location of ambient light sensor. I can't say replacing that sensor will fix anything? Check codes listed for that sensor. They are manufacturer specific codes.

Unplug the sensor and start the engine. If the headlights come on, the sensor is bad. Unplugging the sensor will create a high resistance signal to the computer from the sensor. This will cause the computer to switch on the headlights. If that doesn't work, further troubleshooting is needed by a shop that has the equipment to do so. Hope that helps! Jim
