Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2017 Chevy Cruze ls Service StabiliTrak light came on and my car seems to shake and
lost power, how can I fix this? And if it needs to be serviced, where can I take so that
they do not charge me an arm and a leg?

Modern cars have tech over kill and a technician is needed unless you can figure it out on your own , as long as people keep buying them they'll keep making them too complicated for the average person . You need an honest mechanic ( good luck with that ) and I don't think a dealership can guarantee that .

The vehicle is going to have to be checked out by a tech, stay away from the dealership, check your local independent shops for good reviews and when you find that shop make an appointment. The only real drawback is right now is electronic parts. I have been waiting for a BCM for over 10 weeks now. Good Luck

Hi, Thank you beatupchevy, Bob_, and G A, I took the car to a technitian and they were gonna charge me $1,000 to change the 4 ignition coils, spark plugs, and do a injector cleaning; they said that it is a typical problem that Cruze's have and changing those parts have corrected the problem in the past,, the same tech suggested I do it and it would be a lot cheaper. I bought all parts, changed them and it worked for a while but when I was pulling up to my driveway I got the same Service StabiliTrak message again. Do you think it might take a while to reset or do I definitively need to take it to the dealership :(

Yes it will need further testing. Do Not go to a dealer. Any good independent shop can do the diagnostic.
