I am a dad with 3 teenagers. I am looking for a tweeny (Not Compact, Not
Large) SUV. I travel to customers sites and for soccer & volleyball games.
Out the door pricing on an 2016 Edge Sport with tech and moon roof is almost
equal to a 2017 KIA Sorento SXL.
Sorento is near perfect except for no DRLs. Third row in Sorento will likely
never be used. v6 is a must have! Edge is also very nice.
Love your reviews. Bought my last car on your reviews. This one is a coin
toss. Which would you recommend?

I have! Looking for something just a little larger. Any opinion on the Ford Edge Sport?
I am not a fan of KIA either and I also am a Ford fan. I like the Mazda CX-7 and CX-9. The Ford Edge has been a good platform for Ford. If you do much travelling there are not nearly as many places to get a KIA repaired as there are for Fords. Toyota would be a great choice also. I would avoid anything that has a CVT transmission.
My wife owned a 2004 Sorento and replaced it with a 2016 Sorento. Until the last couple years, no major issues with the 2004 model. Our son is 11 and plays soccer & is a Black Belt in TKD, so we often have gear for class, practice or games in the Sorento. We test drove the Edge, Equinox, CX-5, Traverse and Acadia. The Pilot was too big for her, as we're the Acadia & Traverse. The 4-cyl Equinox didn't have enough power for DC area traffic. She felt too low in the Edge & 6-cyl Equinox. The CX-5 felt cramped. Built like a MLB, even I felt comfortable in the Sorento passenger & 2nd row seats. We have the 3rd Row almost always folded down for plenty of in-car storage. For us, the 2016 Sorento was a good choice. I do like the look of the Edge. My mom had a Lincoln version that was nice for her until someone hit it; she was safe, good safety features.
I've had a 2002 Sedona then traded for a 2009 Sportage then a 2013 Sorento now have a 2017 Sorento. Everyone of them has been a dream. I'm thinking about trading for a 2020 Telluride. You'll have trouble with any car if you don't maintain it and take care of it. If you want something to beat up then get a Ford F150 or a Toyota.
