Is my transmission bad?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2000 Ford Windstar that I've been happy with (after replacing the crazy instrument cluster)- a while back, I had to do some frantic shifting to avoid being run into by an idiot and heard a "snap!" underneath the van. When this happened, I no longer had drive, just reverse- if I put it into the lowest gear and "goose" it, the van will very, very slowly creep forward and makes no unusual noises while doing so. Is my transmission toast, or is it a broken linkage of some sort? Reverse works fine.

Hard one to answer, it needs to be looked at for a determination.
