Water pump swap. Timing.

I changed my water pump and fan clutch. The
engine has a little whining noise and it seems to
respond different when the gas is pushed. Could
the timing be off?

It might be the replacement fan clutch. Did you purchase the same one you replaced? Meaning, do they look identical besides the brand? Auto parts stores will sell multiple fan clutches for a vehicles application.

Possible fan clutch or water pump bearings. Book Knowledge Source: Amazon Search; Jesus Roberto Auto.
The fan clutch did look a little different. The nut was smaller in length. It almost sounds like a turbine. Didn't make that sound before swap.
