Took my car to Carnation, Long Island to sell

Question type: Car Selling & Trading In

filled out paper work. left car and title.  they have not turned in the plates.  
should I cancel insurance now?  And what else do I need to do?

Is this a consignment lot? Don't cancel insurance until the car is sold.
