instructions on how to locate and replace thermostat?

Follow the top radiator hose to where it connects to the engine - that is the thermostat housing. Drain the coolant, disconnect the hoses and remove the housing. Then remove the thermostat. Be sure to install the new one facing the correct way. See diagram for location. You didn't specify engine type, so this one is for a 2.0 L. If you have a 2.5, it'll look slightly different but same concept, you'll have to remove an engine cover first though.
