The AC in my Corolla make a loud "whining" noise intermittently after use.  It
only has 34k on it. When I turn the car off the noise continues sometimes for
up to 1 solid minute, just a "whine".  Mechanic didn't know at Toyota what it
was & said to come back if it keeps up.  The AC works but the noise is
annoying !  Does anyone know why this is?

If the whine is from the inside blower motor it is probably from a leaf in the fan blades.

I'm not even sure it's in the blower motor. Would that cause a high pitch noise that only occurs when the car is turned off? Sometimes it fades and others it stays constant high pitch for 30+ seconds, but only when car is turned off.

Sometimes a vacuum leak is audible. It can be a whine or a hiss. It could continue after the engine is shut off for a few seconds until the vacuum is depleted. Hope that helps! Jim
