Hi there, I live in the UK and had a lease car in Kansas. I purchased the vehicle and sol to a third party not for profit. Can I apply for a refund on the sales tax?

You should have paid for sales taxes regardless of where your premenant address is. Regardless of how you sold, if you paid for the plates, and they have not expired you should be able to return and a small refund may be issued. As far.as the sell to non profit since it was a sell and not donation I do not believe your country allows for tax deduction to non profit IF you file a yearly tax from. Hope this helps

You paid sales tax when you bought it and I have never heard of anyone getting a tax refund when they sell the car for any reason, profit, loss or break even.
